Today I discovered Google has recently added some virtual keyboards to some of their local search engines to make it easier to input foreign characters when typing in keywords. To show how to use the new feature, Chris Smith has created this screencast which spells out the straightforward procedure.
Thanks to Chris for putting this together so quickly. An interesting development indeed!
If you can't wait for your Google keyboard of choice, check out these virtual keyboards for languages from SoundBooth Plus. They are free to use in UK schools and colleges and come in French, German, Italian, Cymraeg, Greek, Spanish, Russian and Ukrainian!
