ASSIGNMENT: Podcast is an excellent multimedia tutorial on all the steps needed for making your first podcast from BT Education. Updated from the BT mini-site Internet Radio Kit for Schools, the tutorial explains what equipment and software is required as well as giving guidance on issues such as recording, editing and interviewing techniques. Using, sound, video, animation and text, the information is presented clearly and thoughtfully by Andrew Bailey, Peter Osborn and Nick Clarke from Radio 4.
The team recommends recording with a USB microphone or mp3 player such as an iRiver T30 in combination with the free editing software Audacity.
Teacher notes are available to download from the site giving tips on the sort of podcasts that pupils may want to create. There is also the possibility to showcase links to good examples of podcasts made thanks to the tutorial to encourage others to do the same.
As an all in one guide, I can't praise this tutorial enough. Well done BT!
What a great idea! This is a top resource - we're going to use some of the worksheets with our 6th form before they have a go at podcasting. I've also signed up to the 'Podsafe Music Network' at http://music.podshow.com for background music which I think is safe for our podcasts - unless I've read the Ts and Cs wrong again! Have a look and let me know what you reckon!

Hi Alex,
Podsafe music is OK to use in podcasts as far as I know as long as you acknowledge the author of the music. Check the small print though!
Best wishes

Dear Joe,
I am an AST in MFL in Tonbridge in Kent and we are running an e-learning group in the area in which we share resources and develop staff training. Unfortunately I can not attend your training day on the Isle of Whight but would like to know if there are any alternative or if maybe we could arrange another session more locally..maybe..
Would you ba able to email me back as I am still not blogging.
many thanks in advance.
