TwitterLearn is a new service launched today by Mark from Radio Lingua Network designed to quiz users of content taken from their popular series of language learning podcasts using the free micro-blogging tool Twitter. The idea is that subscribers receive regular tweets to their account asking them to translate the phrases they are learning in Spanish, German or Italian which they can then check by clicking on the accompanying link to see if they are right or wrong.
To make the question and answer process straightforward, Mark has cleverly used the TwitterLearn RSS feed with the Twitter related mashup Twitterfeed which can be automated to send tweets as titles and Tinyurl links as body posts. This works brilliantly for TwitterLearn because the title is the question and the answer can only be seen by clicking on the encoded link. Therefore all Mark has to do is write the title of a new post in the form of a question on the TwitterLearn blog and the answer as the main body text and the RSS feed does the rest automatically.
If you are interested in signing up, but are not sure how, why not have look at this helpful quick start guide to get you started? I'm sure you'll be twittering away in no time at all.
