Favicon your Typepad blog!

Favicons are personalised icons which promote a blog or site by appearing in the address bar of your web browser, Favorites list or History menu. To create one for a Typepad blog, follow these simple steps:

• go to the site FavIcon from Pics
• click the Browse button
• select the image you want to use as your Favicon and click Open
• click Generate FavIcon.ico.
• click the Download FavIcon button and then Open to launch the window containing your converted Favicon file
• copy the Favicon file and paste it on to your desktop or My Pictures folder
• Sign in to your TypePad account and click the Control Panel tab
• Click the Files tab
• In the Upload a New File box, click the Browse button, find your Favicon and select it
• click Open and click the Upload button
• Wait a few seconds for your file to upload
• Logout

This is what I did this afternoon, having first read Silvia Tolisano's post Add a Favicon to your blog and Adding a Personalized Icon to your Weblog from Everything Typepad Tips and Tricks. Then, after a short wait, my small, but beautiful favicon appeared for all to see. Lovely.

How did you get your favicon to work in Internet Explorer? On Langwitches Blog it only shows in Firefox. :(

I just followed the advice from the Everything Typepad link above. It did take a while for the favicon to appear though.

Like the idea of a Favicon - like a coporate logo! Tried to add one to my blog too but can't work out how as not the same as Typepad. Will keep fiddling though ;o)
