Today, I was in London again finishing off the work we started three weeks ago on updating the ICT element of the QCA KS2 French SoW. We were able to look at the remaining units for Year 4 French and discuss how the creative use of ICT could improve learning outcomes and engage pupils at the same time.
Our conversations included references to many types of technology including ways of using interactive whiteboards, one stop animation, blogging, podcasting and video conferencing as well as specific web apps such as Voki, Comic Life and Desktop Messager. We were careful to incorporate a range of suggestions from traditional to 'cutting edge' approaches appealing to specialist and non-specialist colleagues.
By the end of the day, I was buzzing with ideas, yet exhausted and ready for some down time over the weekend. It was a very rewarding experience as before and I look forward to taking part in further collaborations of this type. I hope you enjoy the ideas too when the schemes are published in the new year.
This is great news and really exciting. But does it mean the new KS2 units are about to be republished all over again? Or is this likely to be an additional document? Only we've only just forked out for new sets...
Really looking forward to seeing them though Joe!

Hi Jo,
I don't know exactly when or how the updated schemes will be published, but I'll let you know as soon as I do!
