Jonathan Nalder from mLearning World has produced two videos part 1 and part 2 demonstrating how the iPod can be used for educational purposes. They refer to the following areas
- audiobooks (iTunes store)
- creating quizzes (iQuiz, iQuizr, Quizzler, StudyMate Quizzes and Flash Cards, Brain Challenge)
- accessing podcasts and making your own (6/7C, Grammar Girl iLounge, MicroMemo, iTunes U, Smithsonian Global Sound, Einstein's Ethics, Video Maths Tutor)
- downloading YouTube videos for the Mac (TubeSock) and watching them on a TV
- time activities (World Clocks, Stopwatch)
Thanks to Andy Black for the link.
See iPods in Education published by Apple Computer Inc. too.
Thanks for this excellent summary. I'm really looking into iPod use in schools at the moment and it was really helpful - with lots to think about. Ta.
