One of the most popular sessions from this year's Isle of Wight Conference was Mark Pentleton's One Stop Animation workshop. Here are the short clips produced by delegates on the day using webcams, Stop Motion Animator and Windows MovieMaker. They include:
- ¿Eres Nemo?
- Fred et Bob jouent à cache-cache
- Pierre Le Poisson
- C'est Halloween
- El Fantasma, El Blobbo y La Palmera
Thank you to Mark for showing how easy it is to produce such fantastic results in a short period of time using a bit of plasticine and lots of imagination.
I'm sure these clips will give food for thought for anyone interested in integrating animation within the languages classroom ¡Estupendo!
Joe,
Thank you so much for a brilliant conference. I hadn’t signed up initially to do Kath Holton’s session on Using digital voice recorders in the lesson – although it was a consideration. As the other sessions I had signed up for were cancelled, I went to her session – and it was fantastic! So easy to do. I ended up buying myself a digital voice recorder, and I have set up my wiki this week, added pages to it, set homework on it yesterday at around 12pm. By 5 pm yesterday – before I had left school, one of my year 9 pupils had already left a comment, and by 7.15am this morning there were 6 comments – a quarter of the class had done their homework within 24 hours!
Admittedly, some of the homework requires a little more work, but I suppose you could consider it amusing to hear the French language mangled by an American accent!
Anyway, here is the link to my website: www.gtsfrench.wetpaint.com
I shall be adding more to it later in the day – including Pierre le poisson – which, by coincidence, was Kath Holton, me and someone else!
Thank you once again,
Christine

christine, it was really nice reading your comment and finding that I might have helped in giving you ideas how we language teachers can use digital voice recorders, vokis and wikis. Fab!!
best wishes, Kath
